Enterprise Rent-A-Car has an immediate opportunity within the European IT Infrastructure team for an Network Architect.  The role is responsible for analysing and translating our business needs into processes, designs and solutions that balance the need with our global technology strategies. This role will set and influence strategy and technology choices across all IT disciplines, and provide technical leadership with the Enterprise organization. The position is based at Enterprise Holding's European Corporate Office in Egham, Surrey.


This role offers the chance to be an integral part of a growing team delivering global standards to the European arm of a highly successful U.S.-based car rental company.


This position collaborates directly with technology owners, external partner vendors and interacts with the end user community.  The successful candidate will be responsible for translating global standards into local solutions through the use of in country technologies and provider services.  The Network Architect provides technical leadership to the project teams, engineers, other architects, and helps to plan technical activities for projects.  The role has responsibility for assisting with the development of strategic planning for the team as well as focusing on operational and tactical activities.  The Network Architect acts as a technology leader within the team, provides escalation assistance in the event of technology performance issues and recommends potential solutions. 


Strong leadership, organisational, communication and customer service skills are vital as the candidate will be involved with multiple efforts and escalations simultaneously.  The successful candidate will be highly process orientated.



  • Conducts network architecture design, feasibility, and cost studies for solutions. 
  • Analysis and evaluation of local service provider solutions
  • Develops local technology roadmaps
  • Ongoing review of current environment technical performance
  • Develops and tests conceptual solutions to support business requirements
  • Collaborates closely with the engineering teams for their technical development
  • Work with end users, group management, technical resources and partner organisations to define and develop technical implementations.
  • Actively engage as part of project teams
  • Communicate requirements, set expectations, exercise autonomous decision making as well as ensure deadlines are met
  • Coordinate and monitor ongoing activities
  • Facilitate regular update meetings, reviews and communication
  • Collaboration across functional areas within IT and direct interaction with partner vendor organisations


  • Experience in Network Design and operational management of IT Infrastructure environments
  • CCIE Certification or equivalent qualified preferred


  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated time management and organisational skills
  • Self motivated and a team player with exceptional work ethic
  • Methodical approach to decision making and problem resolution
  • Multi-lingual a plus but not essential (French/Spanish/German)
